Experiencing history

Special tours are available for school classes and children's/youth groups as part of the educational museum program to give children and youths more insight into life in the Middle Ages.

3. A princely banquet and
    a servant’s fare

Sentries and artisans mainly inhabited the stronghold: only in times of crisis did the archbishop retreat behind the protective walls of the castle. Living and housing conditions differed on almost all levels of daily life between “menials” and archbishop, from accommodation to eating habits. The schoolchildren should familiarise themselves with some aspects “close-up” and examine the social history issues they represent.
