Salzburg is easily accessed from Germany via the Motorway from Munich-Salzburg.
Coming from the direction of Vienna, Salzburg is accessed via the A1 West Motorway.
Coming from the south or Italy, cross the border at Arnoldstein and take the A2 to Villach. Continue on the A10 Tauern Motorway. You will pass Mauterndorf Castle and Hohenwerfen Fortress on your way to Salzburg.
